Alcoholics Anonymous, known as "A, A." for short, is a fast-growing group of people for whom alcohol has become a major problem and who, admitting this, have decided to do something about it. They have in evidence of their own lives decided that for them, alcohol is a poison, and are honestly attempting to build a satisfactory mode of living without alcohol in any form. A.A. now has many thousands of members (men and women) worldwide. We believe that twothirds of us have laid a foundation for permanent sobriety and more than half have no relapse at all, despite the fact many had been considered incurable, There are no dues or fees for membership.
